Hey girl, welcome back for another episode of the routine and things podcast. So happy you're joining me today. This is going to be a short and sweet episode. It's another routine share episode where I am sharing with you my 10 minute tidy routine. Yes, this is my personal routine for my home. That helps me get my home clean and tidy at night. This is usually when I do this routine. I do this routine once a day before I go to bed. Some days, I may do it twice a day. But I would say for the most part only do this once a day because nobody got time to be straighting up a house all day. Okay? It's okay for my house to look lived in for some time throughout the day. So this is the routine I'm going to share with you. And as I do on these routine share episodes, I'm going to share with you the outcome that I want to have with this routine and then the steps that are a part of this routine.

Ashley Brown 2:58
This will give you some inspiration for your own tidy routine if this is something that you want to create, or you can just take my routine, you can steal my routine. I ain't mad at you if you do. Okay, so let's get to it. The outcome of this routine right the 10 Minute tidy routine is for the common areas of my house to be free of clutter. And for most things to be back in their respective places. This is really the outcome. That's it. It is very straightforward. I just need stuff to be put back. And I need the house to not look cluttered because clutter to me physical clutter equals mental clutter for me. So I need my mind to be clear. The steps of this routine step one I clear the floors and the tables. First thing I do, I just start picking up stuff off the floor is usually my children's toys that they haven't picked up all of them because they have started to do their own tidy routine where they clean up their toys before they go up to bed.

Ashley Brown 4:05
But if they have a few lingering around or a day where I just don't feel like waiting for them to clean up and their toys or on the floor. Then I pick them up and I pick up everything off the floor. And after that I start to pick up and clear things off the table usually our dining room table, our kitchen counter. Usually the kitchen, the dining room, and the living room are the common areas that I tidy in my routine. And so I clear the floors, I clear the tables and the counters, and that's the first step. The second step is I wipe off all of the countertops. This includes the kitchen counter, this includes the table. So those are the things that I will usually wipe off with a damp cloth so that any food particles that's left around any sticky fingerprints, I get those off so that we can start fresh the next day. Then after I wiped down the countertops, the third step and final step is I sweep in quotations if needed, or in parentheses, in parentheses, if needed.

Ashley Brown 5:15
So I only sweep if it is necessary to sweep because some days my girls do pretty good and is not alot on the floor. Some days, it looks like a hot mess. And I'm like, Okay, I got to sweep tonight. So that is the last and final step. Let me repeat the routine to you again, step one is to clear the floors and tables. Step two, wipe down the countertops. And step three, sweep, if needed. That's the routine. I do this one every single night and what it does for me what it does for me, it does wonders. It really helps me when I wake up in the morning, I see a clutter free living space. And I'm just like, Thank you God for this. Because my mind is then put at ease when I wake up. And I'm telling you, I do this every night. And it's really is such a simple routine. It only takes me 10 minutes, if that on so many times get this done in five minutes, especially if I don't need to sweep.

Ashley Brown 6:16
And that's it. I mean, it just is such a helpful routine, because I keep up with it so often that things don't pile up. So that's the routine for you very simple, but it helps me keep things tidy in the house on a regular basis. I hope that this was helpful for you to hear, do you have a tidy routine right now? Are you wanting to create one? Like I said, mine is only done at night because this is what works for me and my family. If you have a bigger family, I can see you possibly doing this multiple times in the day or even if you have a bigger home, where you have multiple common spaces where you and your family are, then I can see you doing this multiple times a day too. But think about what works for you.

Ashley Brown 7:01
Take some inspiration from this episode and build you a cleaning routine that doesn't take a lot of time yours may not take 10 minutes or it may take 15 is whatever you need. The last thing I want to share with you is this is the final day for you to contribute to our crowdfunding campaing. Oh my gosh, it has been a whirlwind. But I am super excited about this. I am so grateful for every single person that has contributed to this campaign. And I hope that you will contribute as well. If you have not, I would greatly greatly appreciate the help. We are raising $25,000. At least $25,000 for the business in order to create a planner for you. All of the funds are going towards creating this planner. And I'm so excited to bring you this.
