Something I've become more and more passionate about over the last four years is living a somewhat organized life with running a business, teaching part time, and two little girls running around, I would not be able to stay on top of most things if I hadn't established routines that support me in staying organized. And through that journey. I've found that I love helping other women do the same that is teaching them to establish their own healthy routines to support them through any season of life. Hey, girl, hey, welcome back for another episode of the routine and things podcast. Oh, let's talk about it today. This episode is a pep talk you did not know you need it. But you're getting today because I want for you to feel good in your life. And I know you want the same and so this episode is really going to help you understand what to do if your life feels out of control right now, if that's how you're feeling just know you're not alone. A lot of people are feeling like that. Sometimes I still feel like that at certain moments. And I'm like God, what's going on? Like? Can we go ahead and change this. But sometimes we have to go through sometimes we can't go under we can't go over. But sometimes we have to go through things, but know that it's going to be okay. It always turns out, okay, in the end, you're always okay at the end of the day, right? If you really think back, you look back at your life, it always works out.

Even though sometimes we don't know why we're going through things at certain moments. It always works out and we will come full circle to understand why we needed that in the first place. And so if you're feeling like life is out of control, just know that it's going to be okay. It's going to be okay, so let's get into it. What can you do if your life feels out of control right now, the first thing is I want for you to recognize that you're still in control. So although life is feeling out of control for you, right now, you are still in control, you're still in the driver's seat. And you need to recognize this and acknowledge this because if you believe that life is just pulling you how ever which way it wants to pull you, then you're gonna have a hard time actually getting back into the driver's seat. But if you can acknowledge that wait, this is a my life, like my life, don't control me, I control it, you will be better equipped to jump in the driver's seat, take the wheel and start steering it in the direction you want it to go.

At the end of the day, you have control over some things still, even when you feel like wait, this situation is happening. This is occurring. And I have no control and changing it right? Because maybe that's the case, right? Sometimes in our life, this happens for all of us. We have certain things that we cannot change. We can't control certain things or certain situations in our life. However we can control other things like our mind, you controlling your mind in situations where you can't change the situation where you can't change their circumstance, you controlling your mind is the best thing that you can do for you. And also you controlling other things that are within your control is important for you to so I share this because when I'm in situations or I'm in a season of life where I feel like wait, I don't want this to happen.

I didn't want this to take place or I wish that this was different. I try to actually focus on what I can control which is my mindset, as well as other things in my life making sure that I have supportive practices that I'm doing that support me. So if you've been listening to this podcast for some time, you know, I share that a morning in a bedtime routine is so crucial in helping you to manage your energy. And so those are two things I focus on. Because I know I have control over these things, I have control over what I do in my mornings to give me energy and give me a boost and put me in the right headspace at the top of my day. I have control in my bedtime routine for how I want to go to sleep and what I want for that to feel like and the things that I want to do at night to support myself mentally and emotionally and spiritually, I have control over that, right, you may not be able to control which way the wind blows.

But what you can do is you can control how you position yourself, you can control how you position yourself in the wind so that you're not blown away. That's what you do have control over. So I want you to think about that in times where you don't have control over your life, maybe you don't have control over which way the wind blows, maybe you don't have control over that situation, maybe you can't change that situation like you wish you could. But what you do have is you have control over how you position yourself in the wind, how you position yourself in your mind, during that situation. In that situation or circumstance, you have control over that. So keep this in mind today, recognize you're still in control.

All right. The second thing that I want to share with you, and this is something that is really huge in my life is it's so important for you to keep an optimistic perspective, a hopeful perspective, even when you feel like you don't want to, I need for you to keep an optimistic perspective in life, that things aren't going to work out. Maybe they don't work out how you have it in your head and how you might want it to work out but it's gonna work. At the end of the day, keeping a hopeful perspective will help you. Keeping an optimistic attitude will help you the worst thing that you can do in a situation where you feel like is out of control of your life is out of control is to let your mind believe that and then your actions follow that if your mind attaches to that you're out - my life is just out of control, what will happen is your actions will start to be out of control because your mind believes that but if you keep an optimistic attitude, as far as I know this is going to work out your actions will align with you believing is going to work out.

And so you have to keep that optimistic attitude, that optimistic, hopeful perspective in your life that is going to work out regardless, I know I can change this in my life. Maybe I can't change the totality of something, but I can change how I come into a situation how I perceive a situation I believe that at the end of the day is going to work out just fine. Having an attitude of gratitude. Oh my gosh, is there's one song that I listen to. And I forgot the name of it. But it's just one song. And it keeps saying attitude of gratitude, attitude of gratitude. And it's just like the bomb.com because gratitude, if you can stay in gratitude, it will just open your eyes so much you will have such a positive perspective of life if you stay in gratitude.

And that may seem like okay, gratitude, Ashley, but my life really is hard. I know. And I believe you, I believe you. I believe you wholeheartedly if you're feeling like life is super hard right now, I believe you and you can still have an attitude of gratitude for whatever you're grateful for. I don't care how small how big whatever it is you're grateful for maybe you're grateful that the sun is out today and it's not raining, maybe you're grateful that your kids were able to go to school this morning and learn maybe you're grateful that you have a job where you're able to afford the lifestyle that you want maybe you're grateful that you have family in that area and friends who love you, maybe you're grateful that you took a breath this morning and that you're able bodied and able to stand up on your own two feet and move around however you please whatever that is for you.

Staying with that positive perspective can help you when your life feels out of control because I know personally how it feels to go into the darkness because of the fact that my life doesn't feel or look the way that I want and then here you can either choose to go into the darkness or you can either choose to go into the light you get to choose you we all get to choose I don't want to go into the dark I done been down that path that path is scary that path don't lead to nothing good it doesn't you can't even see where the path gonna lead you because it's too dark to even see. Where I want to go is to the light I want to go to the light because at least I can see when I'm going through the light when I'm going towards the light at least I got some type of vision to be able to see that's important. Do not let your life circumstance deter you from having an optimistic positive perspective about your life.

You are in in control of your life, you can have a good perspective about anything that's going on, you can find some type some ounce of something to be grateful for, even during hard times, even during hard times. I just recently went through an experience with my youngest daughter she was in the hospital for for a little bit because she had a really bad asthma attack. Oxygen got low, we had to rush her to the hospital, she gets there, they're giving her all these medications trying to get her back stable, get her back breathing well. She had to be on albuterol nebulizer treatments. So if you have a child that has asthma, you probably know what I'm talking about. But in any case, she had to be on medication continuously for about 14 to 18 hours. She was in the hospital overnight. I stayed with her throughout the night in that situation. Yeah, I could let myself my mind worry to the point of exhaustion. Did I no Ma'am, I did not know. No.

I kept a positive perspective, as well as I was like, You know what, I'm gonna position myself in this situation to make sure that I keep my mind in check, because I'm not about to worry myself. I did what I could do, I brought her here, they're gonna handle the rest. I'm gonna do what I can you know what I mean? That is so important for you to understand. You only can do what you can do. So have an attitude of gratitude. Keep an optimistic perspective, a hopeful perspective in life will do you so good, especially when you feel like life is so out of control. And then the last thing when it comes to what you can do if you feel like life is out of control is to identify the problem and get the support you need. That is important. Identify the problem get clear on what is the freakin problem here? Why does my life feel out of control? What is contributing to this? Is it a lack of boundaries? Is it me putting too much pressure on myself?

Is it me trying to be perfect? Is it me trying to keep up a reputation that I truly don't care about? But I think others care about? Is it me not doing enough for myself? Is it me being burned out? Is it that I don't have enough support? Is it that I'm not asking for help? Is it because I need a new job, or I want a new job or change in career? What is making your life feel out of control? Identify the problem, because once you can identify the problem, you can get support to help you with a solution. Is it you need a new routine that the routines that you've been having, some of them are still working and others are not. And it's time for a change, identify the problem and get support to help you with the solution to that problem. If you want to move beyond your life feeling really out of control and chaotic, you have to first know what's making it feel that way.

And then you can work towards finding a solution and getting support. What is it for you start to think about that today. After listening to this, I really want for you to think about what or you can pause it right now and want for you to think about what is causing your life to feel out of control. Truly, what is it and then get support in helping you solve the problem. No matter what it is, is so many resources, so many people out here that are helping so many resources out here in this world, that whatever problem you have that's making your life feel out of control, you can get a solution to it.
