So let's go ahead and get into this episode. It's all about putting your plans into action, which I love. Anything that speaks to taking action and like I'm an action girl. Like if I say I'm going to do something, I'm going to do it more than likely. So I'm all about taking action. And I love to help others take action because I think that's the way that we move towards the goals and the plans and the vision that we have for our lives. I think there's some things that are really important to consider when it comes to putting your plans into action. Like with the New Year approaching, you know, we are super excited about trying to make like 2021 our best year right. And if this is the case for you, putting your plans into action, like actually taking the plans that you have that you have either written down or that you are holding in your head and acting on those plans is going to occur in 2021.

Ashley Brown 4:41
And for you to be the most successful with this. I think there are some things to consider to help you in turning your plans into action actually carrying out the plans that you have for your life. We have big plans for 2021. So let's make them happen but possibly you have our planting pads or you have bought a planner from someone else. And I think that we can get into this mode of being really good at planning. But what about the action that actually goes into carrying out that plan? Like, have you ever found yourself to just like write down your plans, and you're great at visualizing what you want or writing down the things that you want to get done and things you want to accomplish. But by the end of the day or week, you're like, Huh, what happened? So, if this sounds like you stay tuned, because I'm going to be sharing with you what can help. Let's go ahead and get into things.

Ashley Brown 5:40
The first thing I'm going to be sharing is, I really feel like when it comes to putting your plans into action, it's important for you to know how to plan because how you plan greatly impacts your ability to carry out that plan. If you don't know how to plan, you are going to be creating plans, and they could be very overwhelming for you. And your plans could be very unrealistic for the season of life that you're in or unrealistic for that day or that week, your plans could be all over the place. Right. So how you plan is super important to think about when it comes to carrying out that plan. And I have a very simple planning routine that I do and that I teach women to do because it helps it gives you a process for filtering through your thoughts, and really bringing forth what is important, right, that's the whole thing about planning that we have to get to a point where we plan in a way that actually weeds out what's important versus what's not important at that time. So when you're thinking about planning for your day, if you are just writing out everything that you want to get done without any rhyme or reason to is this important is it not important for today, then you're going to get stuck with doing things that weren't important. And then you're not going to even get to the things that were important. And that can really like stall your progress, and not move you towards that goal that you want to meet. So planning isn't just about writing down things. It's not just about writing off the things in your head, or taking what's in your head and putting it on paper, it's about taking what you have written on paper, if you are brain dumping, and learning how to decipher what's really important at this time, learning to prioritize was important. And actually scheduling that into your day and planning to do those things. Or scheduling that into your weekend plan to do that throughout your week.

Ashley Brown 7:53
So that's what planning can really help you with. And so that's why our planning notepad includes a three step planning process for you to brain dump, deciding your top three goals and then schedule out the things that you want to get done by looking at that brain dump. And also thinking about what are some other things in your week, that are important to do, because it has a process to it. So it's all about becoming thoughtful and intentional with your planning, because that's key and helping you carry out your plans. So start to become very thoughtful, very intentional. And a way that you can do this is first start by brain dumping what's on your mind, because as women as moms, we have a lot on our minds. Let's be honest. So with everything on your mind, brain dump that out when it comes time for you to plan, brain dump it all. And then what I like to do is I like to ask myself three questions when it comes to me weeding out, like what's important versus was not. And those three questions are what is coming up that I need to prepare for. The second question is, what have I been putting off that must be done? And then the third question is what will make me extremely happy to do? So please take these questions when you are doing your planning, because that can help you to decipher what's important and what's not because you want to do what's the most important at that time was the most important in that week in that month without however you're planning.

Ashley Brown 9:24
You want to really weed through what's of value, what's not of value at this time. Okay, so that's just one way you can become very intentional. So that's the first thing that can help you. And putting your plans into action is to actually plan in a way that is intentional and thoughtful, because how you plan like I said before greatly impacts your ability to carry out your plan.

Ashley Brown 9:47
Secondly, I think that is really important for you to increase your confidence when it comes to putting your plans into action. Confidence can be such a game changer. Like mindset is huge. When it comes to like acting on what you say you want to do, or acting upon the plans that you set for yourself or you set for your home or your family. Confidence can play a major role in this. And for some of us, I know for me and for me, I know that I can be like an overthinker. I know for me, I can overthink. I can overthink. Like in a split second, I have come to learn how to stop myself from overthinking sometimes I'm like, "Ashley, you're overthinking right now". Like you're overthinking stuff. So, um, I don't know if you're like that. But if you are, overthinking can really stall your progress and can make you not act and cause you to sit in inaction. And so that is something that I have come to learn about myself is that I can be an overthinker. And this didn't help me with confidence at all. Because when I would start to overthink, I wouldn't make progress. And so I had to start to learn, like, let's just go along with what you say you want to do, stop overthinking it. And so confidence can make a very huge difference and can help you to turn your plans into reality.

Ashley Brown 11:16
Because confidence comes with trusting yourself. Because if you are able to trust yourself, this like really allows you to continue acting upon what you know you will do for yourself or continue to act upon what you believe is possible for yourself or your home or your family. And being able to trust yourself just increases your confidence and boost it so so much. And I want to share with you one way that you can build confidence over time, is like one small way that you can build confidence over time. And it deals with your planning. But it's making a tiny promise to yourself each time you plan and acting upon that tiny promise can start to instill confidence in you. So if you feel like you are an over thinker, or you feel like you are always creating plans, but you're not really acting on those plans, starting to do this really small practice of making a tiny promise to yourself, and then acting upon that tiny promise. And this can be a tiny promise every single day like very small minute, it can be I'm going to stretch today, or it can be I'm going to make myself a cup of coffee in the afternoon. It can be I'm going to sit down and read me a book for five minutes is it could be I'm going to journal for a minute it can be I'm going to read a book to my kids, it doesn't really matter what the tiny promise is. But make it small enough to the point where you know you could do it in your day. Because this will start to instill confidence and build your confidence, which really helps you to carry out your plans, and to continue to carry out the plans that you set for yourself and for your life.

Ashley Brown 13:10
So I wanted to share that with you because this is a really small practice. But if you do it, you will start to see your confidence in trusting yourself starts to grow and starts to build. And then you will start to see you are actually acting upon your plans more than you were in the past. So that's just a little tip for you. But increasing your confidence is really huge when it comes to putting your plans into action. Alright, so that's the second thing.

Ashley Brown 13:37
The third thing I want to share with you that's really helpful in you, putting your plans into action is having a solid foundation in your day to day by being able to flow in your day in a way that you feel like okay, I got this. I know what I'm doing in my day to day and how to get things done, especially the things that you're doing on a constant basis. Like cooking, making meals, doing laundry, homeschooling your kids, having time for yourself, like those things that you do on a daily basis, like having a solid foundation of how you flow in your days, oh my gosh, can be so beautiful for you. And using routines to build this foundation, like using routines to build this foundation. Because if you know you're doing things on a daily basis, like for one, you're probably planning to do these things you're probably putting on there, I need to do laundry, or I need to make sure that I make dinner tonight, or I need to make sure that I'm scheduling time for myself, you're putting that on your planner or you're planning for that, right. And so if that's the case, like a great way of carrying out those plans, is for you to create routines to actually do that. Such a very simple way for you to carry out your plans. But also routines don't just help you to carry out those specific plans. When you have routines as a solid foundation that helps you in your day to day. What that helps you with as well is it allows for you to create time for other plans outside of your day to day. So whether that is you want to start a new hobby or you have a passion project that you really want to get started with, or you want to make more time for yourself, routines can help you have that solid foundation that's going to create more freedom and more time and more energy for you to be able to carry out those plans outside of your day to day. So routines are very great in both of those ways. Do you have a streamlined way of managing your day to day that things are the tasks that you are always doing on a regular and constant basis. And if not, routines can help you do this. And having these routines gives you more mental capacity to focus on other plans, as well as gives you the actual time to commit to carrying out your plans, carrying out your day to day tasks, your day to day to-dos.

Ashley Brown 16:09
And routines are very beautiful, because they allow you to take action, they actually put you into action, which I think is so beautiful, because you know, we will sit there and be like, I don't want to do this routine. But routines help you spring into action. And that's what's helping you to make the progress in your life. So having a solid foundation in your day to day is huge. And using routines to build this foundation is I feel like the most sustainable way for you to continue putting action towards the plans that you make. So that's my two cents on that.

Ashley Brown 16:42
All right. So that's it, those are the things I want to share with you when it comes to putting your plans into action is one, making sure that you have a planning process that you know how to plan because that's going to impact your ability to carry out your plan, as well as start to increase your confidence because increasing your confidence can help you to trust yourself. And when you trust yourself, you're more likely to carry out the plans that you have set for yourself. And like I said that small way, making a tiny promise to yourself every single day and acting on that tiny promise can help to increase your confidence and build it. And then lastly making sure that you start to create a solid foundation in your day to day and use routines to do this. So those are the three things I wanted to share with you that can help you with this.

Ashley Brown 17:30
Because this year, you can make it happen. You have everything that you need to carry out your plans this year. And if you're listening to this, you are already starting on the right track. This year, don't make it about the planner, I want to share that with you as well. Do not make it about the planner this year but make it about the process that will get you to carry out your plans and make it about the process. Okay, and a very easy process that you can do is your routines, that's going to help you carry out your plans for this year, they're going to open up so much space, so much time so much energy for you. But you just have to start. And if you are looking for a way to get your routines up and running in the right way for 2021. Like I said earlier, I'm hosting the workshop, Rock Your Routine Training™ workshop, you can create a plan and routine in this workshop along with any other routines you need. I'm going to be helping you identify which routines you need the most. And then you're going to be creating them in the workshop. I'm gonna be helping you create them, walking you through my step by step process. And then I'm going to help to equip you with the tools and mindset that you need to stay on track with these routines. And like I said before, you're going to have accountability for the entire month of January. So for 30 entire days, I'm going to be backing you, rooting for you, supporting you, cheering you on. So super excited about this.

Ashley Brown 18:52

Ashley Brown 19:13
So before you go, let me share some routine wisdom with you. I'm doing something a little bit different. Instead of routine work, I'm going to be sharing some routine wisdom with you. All right, just like a piece of motivation for you. Taking action on your plan is tied to taking action on the process. Taking action on your plan is tied to taking action on the process. Focus on the process. It's going to move you towards carrying out that plan. The process will create the mental capacity and time you need to carry it out. So taking action the plan is tied to taking action on the process. Remember that. Alright, so that's it for this episode. Thank you for joining me today. I hope that you continue to enjoy Wherever you are, and whatever you're doing, stay happy and I'll talk to you soon.
